So it’s almost a given that any sandy beach you’ll be able to wade out into the water, don your goggles and dive in. For a start, the water is super clear, so visibility is ace; you’ll be able to see at least a few tropical fish mere feet from where the waves break on the beach.

For some of the best places, get yourself to Navini Island – where there’s a coral paradise just offshore – and Beqa Island and its lagoon, just off Viti Levu.

A really fun and easy going place to have a few drinks and let your hair down in Nadi, heading to this place in the evening is one of the best things to do in Fiji at night.

It’s a low key kind of place full of travellers, surfers and holidaymakers who want to have a laugh together. The drinks are cheap, there’s often live bands playing and the vibe is friendly.

There’s a whole load of different areas to grab a seat for a few drinks with your mates and a burger bar next door so you can fill up on food as well as beer!
