The Staybridge is the hotel that is closest to the university – it’s just right across the street! But location isn’t the only reason this is our highest recommendation, we also love the cozy rooms, the big kitchen, and the cool looking outdoor fireplace!

#2 – Hyatt Place Buffalo / Amherst, NY

Distance to University – 2.6 miles from University at Buffalo

One of the closest hotels to the university, Hyatt Place really does have it all. While the prices are moderate, the facilities are anything but, with the on-site restaurant and indoor swimming pool being our favorites.

#3 – Curtiss Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

Buffalo, NY

Distance to University – 5.4 miles to University at Buffalo

With a great location in downtown Buffalo, Curtiss Hotel is mind-blowingly beautiful. While the bar and pool are gorgeous, we think the individual rooms are the best part of this hotel. Be sure not to miss the free breakfast in the morning!

Distance to University – 4.4 miles to University of Buffalo

One of the best budget hotels near the University of Buffalo, Millenium Buffalo offers its guests a ton of value, including a fitness facility, game room, and indoor pool!

#5 – Comfort Inn University Opens

Cost – $$

Amherst, NY

Distance to University – 300 feet to Buffalo University

Only a couple hundred feet to the university, this is as close as it gets! Comfort Inn is a great budget hotel that offers AC, cable TV, and a solid Wifi connection!

#6 – Hampton Inn Buffalo-Williamsville

Cost – $$$$

Williamsville, NY

Distance to University – 3.6 miles to Buffalo University

One of the best-reviewed hotels in Williamsville, the Hampton Inn is a great place for any solo traveler to get a good night’s rest. The on-site business center is also a great place for a meeting or to get some work done.

#7 – Garden Place Hotel

Easily the most unique hotel on this list, Garden Place Hotel is an old-fashioned (yet charming!) kind of hotel. The decorations are classy and beautiful, and the staff are known to keep the hotel impeccably clean.
